Family Art Day was all about butterflies.
Everyone had the opportunity to transform bow-tie pasta into butterflies.
There were many different ways to approach the project.
All involved had fun.

The Art Junction hosted another fused-glass plate workshop under the direction of Jill Groves.

Tuesday afternoon art classes explored mono-prints for our last session this winter.
Exploring with primary colors, everyone layered colors together.
Students explored different types of paper.
Using scrapers to apply color evenly helped everyone to learn this method of mono-prints.
Everyone enjoyed the process of creating and spreading bright color.

This was fun exploration of printmaking for everyone. Maybe you can join us for one of our summer camps or workshops.
Lynda Stoneham led our first workshop in pastels this year.
Lynda led an excellent workshop that was very informative on her medium of pastels.
The class explored the medium and the various tools, learning many new tips and techniques from our master artist.

In this session students explored sketching in watercolors.

Working with clay is always fun at the Willard Hope Center.
There seems to be something to the hand-building experience that draws all of the students to want to work with clay.
Everyone enjoyed the process of working with clay.
Clay grabs the attention and focus of the students like few other mediums we explore.
The Hope Center in Willard offers many great after-school opportunities for kids in Willard.
The Art Junction enjoys giving the students an art experience with only creative expectations.

Tuesday afternoon art class explored painting with yarn recently.
After soaking their yarn in tempera paint, students slowly pulled the yarn across their paper to create patterns of color.
Everyone had fun exploring this new method of painting.
The painting process took some time to learn how to master the yarn and control the paint.
Everyone was very happy with their paintings and learning how to paint in a new way!
