Day 2 of Art Camp focused on color, shape and line….basic art elements used in fun, creative ways.

We used the spray paint on top of our circle painting board to add another layer of color and shape to that image in an indirect manner.

Art Camp Jr. -Day1

Art Camp Jr. was full of fun and activity as everyone explored many traditional and new art mediums and techniques.

Students began the day with a lettering project based on their name that explored size, color and brush work.

Learning to use ink with a brush was a new experience for the students.

Everyone enjoyed learning how to use spray paint as they had the opportunity to work on our outdoor mural.

We also painted some rocks.

We also explored bag painting.

Campers used plastic bags as a tool for applying paint to a large board.

Everyone had the opportunity to add their favorite color to a base of white paint to create a wonderful tinted color.

Finally the campers began creating bugs out of found materials.

We worked on a lot of projects and began many ideas that will be completed in one form or another on day 2 of Art Camp Jr.

Everyone had fun and enjoyed their creative experience with anticipation of day 2 and the completion of their art work!

Our last Wednesday Afternoon Art Class was filled with painting.

Students had the opportunity to paint our outdoor mural in front of the Art Junction.

Students used various types of materials including spray paint.

It was a lot of fun to add paint in many different ways to a large surface outdoors!

The final step was to remove tape that covered a previous layer of paint.

It was fun to see the students become engrossed in the painting process.

Students at the Willard Hope Center were busily completing their symbol paintings the month of April.

Our last three sessions consisted of stencil painting, adding one last layer of color and a final coat of gloss.

We were blessed with a very windy day that challenged our painting session.

Pumpkin Painting Workshop

On Saturday, October 5, 2013 we hosted a pumpkin painting workshop.

We had  a lot of fun exploring new ways to decorate pumpkins.

Spray painting was the big favorite for this workshop.

It was fun to try new materials and to explore what happens using them with organic mediums like pumpkins.

Pumpkin Painting

Have fun painting a real pumpkin using many different techniques.

All materials provided unless you wish to bring your own pumpkin to paint.

Art Camp -day 2

On day 2 of Art Camp students reviewed their outdoors paintings and used masking tape to cover elements they wanted to save before adding more paint to the images.

This process was a new experience for the campers.

Campers explored adding thin layers of solid color to allow the previous layers to peek through.

After adding some some solid color to their paintings, students returned to the studio to create stencil shapes to add to the images and also allow for some drying time.
