Clone_Wars_Boba_Fett_Helmet

One of my amazing students is creating a helmet in the style of Boba Fett.

Ben began with research into various helmets from Star Wars and decided upon a mandalorian helmet.

SAMSUNG CAMERA PICTURES

Using recycled materials Ben is carefully crafting his helmet.

Now into the paper mache process the helmet is taking shape.

It’s exciting to see the process of Ben’s work as it continues to take shape.

Wired butterflies

SAMSUNG CAMERA PICTURES

Wednesday Afternoon Art Class students recently explored sculptural techniques as they created butterflies from non-traditional materials.

SAMSUNG CAMERA PICTURES

Beginning with craft wire (and the photographer’s finger in the way) students began to form the various shapes for the butterfly.

SAMSUNG CAMERA PICTURES

Students used a clothes pin as a base for the body as they employed flexi-sticks and wire together.

SAMSUNG CAMERA PICTURES

There was a lot hand manipulating involved as students built their butterflies.

SAMSUNG CAMERA PICTURES

Focus and concentration were employed in the development of the small sculptures.

SAMSUNG CAMERA PICTURES

Everyone was excited with the outcome of their first sculptural experience!

Recycled Flowers

SAMSUNG CAMERA PICTURES

The Wednesday Afternoon Art Class created flowers this spring out of new materials.

SAMSUNG CAMERA PICTURES

Students began with cardboard egg cartons that were cut apart and fashioned into flower shapes.

SAMSUNG CAMERA PICTURES

This required some focus and skill to fashion into the flower design desired by the students.

SAMSUNG CAMERA PICTURES

The next step was to add color.

SAMSUNG CAMERA PICTURES

Everyone chose bright colors to highlight the shape, and most everyone decided to combine colors on their flowers together.

SAMSUNG CAMERA PICTURES

Everyone enjoyed the painting process.

SAMSUNG CAMERA PICTURES

The final step was to add flexi-sticks to the flower as a stem.  Everyone had a choice of colors to use and combine together.

SAMSUNG CAMERA PICTURES

Many new, wonderful combinations of flowers were created.

SAMSUNG CAMERA PICTURES

This is a project that can be taken in many different directions depending on the skill and desire of the participant.

SAMSUNG CAMERA PICTURES

Maybe you can join us for a future class to have some creative fun at the Art Junction!

Spring family art day

SAMSUNG CAMERA PICTURES

We had a wonderful family art day this year.

SAMSUNG CAMERA PICTURES

Everyone had the opportunity to create a butterfly out of various materials.

SAMSUNG CAMERA PICTURES

We had air dry clay, clothes pins, craft wire and paint available to use.

SAMSUNG CAMERA PICTURES

We had some wonderful creations.

SAMSUNG CAMERA PICTURES

It was great to see families creatively working together.

SAMSUNG CAMERA PICTURES

Everyone enjoyed the creative process.

SAMSUNG CAMERA PICTURES

It was fun to see all of the decisions everyone made in the process of creating their butterflies.

SAMSUNG CAMERA PICTURES

There were many unique butterfly designs.

SAMSUNG CAMERA PICTURES

The final step was to add paint to the butterfly.

SAMSUNG CAMERA PICTURES

Everyone had their own idea on what their creation needed for a finishing touch.

SAMSUNG CAMERA PICTURES

Everyone enjoyed creating a 3D butterfly.

SAMSUNG CAMERA PICTURES

Join us for our winter family art day in December!
