Our last visit to the Willard Hope Center for 2015 was filled with cookie decorating.
With six dozen cookies to decorate students were busy icing many cookies.

On a recent trip to the Willard Hope Center we played an old drawing game with the students.
Like the old win lose or draw game show on TV, everyone took turns guessing what was being drawn.
After getting over the “I can’t draw syndrome”, everyone had fun guessing each others drawings.
Finally everyone wanted to draw and be a part of the game, and the drawing phobia disappeared as fun took over!
The Art Junction is again working with students at the Willard Hope Center on Thursday afternoons.
For our first week we explored drawing Minions, which seem to be a big favorite with kids.
After reviewing some basic shapes, everyone jumped into the drawing process using some simple directions.
There was a lot of energy in our afternoon art session.
All were proud of their drawing efforts.

Students at the Willard Hope Center completed their “Love”paintings this summer.
The last step to this fun project was to add some clear gloss to the paintings to add a shine.
The paintings will be sold in a silent auction at the 2015 Hope Fest on August 16.
The funds raised from the sale of the students’ paintings will go to fund activities at the Hope Center.

I hope the community will come and support the kids through this free concert event!

The Art Junction was recently working with students at the Willard Hope Center to give the students some experience with digital photography.
Everyone had fun learning how to use the digital cameras, taking selfies and silly photographs of each other with the many features of the cameras.
We will return in a few weeks after Art Camp to work with the students again as we photograph their local environment.

Everyone added stencils to the paintings they have been working on and then their favorite color of paint.
Learning to use spray paint was much harder than it seemed to the students.
