As an artist, David specializes in: pastel painting, acrylic painting, charcoal drawing and alcohol inks. Landscapes and portraiture are popular themes in his work. Rich, layered color and dramatic lighting effects are present in his works.
David received his BA in Art Education from the Ohio State University and his MA in Secondary School Administration from Ashland University. He retired from teaching high school art in Milan, Ohio in 2019.
Currently, David serves: on the board of the North East Ohio Art Education Association, as President of the Firelands Area Art League and as an art instructor for Art Dock. David has had 3 one-man shows of his work and has won 7 Best of Show awards et al. In 2019 he was awarded 3rd Place in Ohio’s State of the Art Show. In 2012, David was honored as North East Ohio Art Education’s Outstanding Art Teacher.
