Candy cane day

Family Art Day was held on December 5, 2015.  We had a large attendance this year.

We had a great time at this year’s Family Art Day.  A big thanks to New Haven United Methodist Church for helping with this event and serving a lunch along with crafts and hosting a community Christmas tree in the square this year.

We had a wonderful time at the bead workshop.

It was enjoyable to explore new mediums of art like polymer clay.

A pasta-making machine is a popular multi-purpose tool for polymer clay artists. It is used to create sheets of uniform thickness, to mix colors or created variegated sheets, and to condition (soften) the clay.

We had a great time at Family Art Day this December.

Clay monsters

Wednesday afternoon art students explored clay for their last class of the autumn session.

Students explored basic clay concepts as they learned how to use the clay and form various geometrical shapes.

Students created a basic pinch pot and began to transform it into a clay monster.

Everyone was focused on the building process.

Students were given the opportunity to incorporate craft sticks, wire, beads and pipe cleaners into their monster creations.
