Compass art

SAMSUNG CAMERA PICTURES

Wednesday afternoon art students have been exploring the compass as an art tool.

SAMSUNG CAMERA PICTURES

Students have been learning how basic math concepts of division and geometry are also art terms and concepts used in creating designs.

SAMSUNG CAMERA PICTURES

Everyone enjoyed exploring the possibilities of the compass and how all of the circles work together to create an image.

SAMSUNG CAMERA PICTURES

This is a great project for students to see the link between art and math skills.

SAMSUNG CAMERA PICTURES

Students used lots of concentration as they explored creating various sizes of repeating circles.

This project really stretched the students to see a new way of creating art through the use of tools from the math world as well as the art world.
