Opening Night…art and ice cream!

We had a wonderful opening night for our Groundbreaking Photography exhibition on Friday, August 9, 2013 which included the Trombone Trio.

Our neighbor, the New Haven United Methodist Church, hosted an ice cream social with homemade ice cream on the lawn.

We had a wonderful attendance for this event of over 100 visitors for art and ice cream!

This exhibit featured the work of 25 area photographers with 82 images on display.

It was a great event both inside and out for the community to meet, connect, and enjoy art, ice cream and life.

The photography exhibition consists of work submitted through the Willard, Greenwich, North Fairfield and Wakeman branches of the The Extension Library District of Huron County.   Photographic categories include groundbreaking moments, outdoors/place/gardens and digging into history (historical place, cemetery/ etc…).

Regular gallery hours for the exhibition Groundbreaking Photography continue this weekend on Fridays & Saturdays, August 10 – 31, 2013 from 5:00 – 7:00 pm.

Visual Music

Friday, May 17, 2013 was the opening night for the Willard City Schools Elementary Art Department 4th grade Art Exhibition: Visual Music.

The 4th grade students’ 16” x 20” expressionistic paintings are on sale during the exhibit.  All proceeds from the sale of their artwork will be placed in the Outdoor Education fund for their 6th grade experience at Mohican Outdoor School.

The students’ artwork would be a great addition to your home, business or organization!  We hope you will participate and purchase a painting for $25.00.

Students explored the theme of music in the style of expressionism with mixed media on 16 x 20” canvas.

Students worked in groups as they combined the ideas of music and expressionism to create Visual Music.

Support the emerging art talents of these young artists by attending their exhibition this spring as they visually express themselves and the greater community around them.

“Visual Music” continues this weekend.  Regular Gallery Hours: Fridays & Saturdays, May 18 – June 1, 2012  5:00 – 7:00 p.m.
