Mural painting at the Art Junction during last summers art camp. Make plans for art camp 2015 coming in July!
Day 3 of Art Camp was tie-dye day!
Everyone prepared their shirts by soaking them in soda ash and squeezing them dry.
After the preparation steps and tying the shirts into designs, next we add the dye.
After a brief discussion on color everyone had the chance to pick the colors they wanted on their shirts.
Everyone enjoyed the process and wearing rubber gloves.
There were many decisions to be made in picking and adding color to the shirt designs.
There were many wonderful color combinations.
Everyone had their own vision of what they wanted their shirts to look like.
This was a fun project that everyone could take home and complete to have their own wearable art.
We ended Art Camp with some final work on our mural wall at The Art Junction.
Everyone enjoyed their creative 3 day adventure at Art Camp 2014!
Day 2 of Art Camp focused on color, shape and line….basic art elements used in fun, creative ways.
Campers added color to their shape drawings.
Lots of focus went into this process.
Next we added color to our ink line studies.
There were many color decisions to make as campers worked on adding watercolor to their images.
Everyone loved adding color with spray paint to their 3D sculptural projects.
There were many color decisions to make in using this new medium.
We used the spray paint on top of our circle painting board to add another layer of color and shape to that image in an indirect manner.
Everyone loved using the spray medium!
It was fun day for everyone to explore many new ways of using color, shape and line together!
Art Camp began with a focus on shapes.
Campers chose many shapes to create a three-dimensional design with layer shapes.
Lots of focus and concentration went into the design and creation of their art.
Next students began to glue down their shapes.
Next step was to add a coat of white paint to their creation.
The white paint added a unifying factor to their work.
After the painting of the projects we moved outdoors for more painting.
We did some rock painting.
Adding lots of painted texture to the rocks.
Campers worked on a circle mural begun by Art Camp Jr. campers.
Campers added detail to the circles.
We ended the first day by working on the outdoor mural.
Campers created some wonderful art and memories.

The final day of Art Camp was about tye-dye.
Everyone learned about the process from preparing the shirts in soda ash…
to tying the shirts in certain patterns for the various dyed designs.
Everyone picked a color pattern for their shirts and began the process of adding color.
Tye-dye is always lots of work and much fun, and it’s a great thing to be able to wear the art you make in the end. What a great Art Camp this summer!
